ONEsocial / PRACTICE & PRODUCT

Plan social media. Make room for better content.

A useful social media plan starts with a clear goal, not the largest possible number of posts. ONEsocial helps you prepare Instagram and LinkedIn content, refine images and captions and schedule publication in a content calendar. Turn individual ideas into an editorial plan you can follow.

What belongs in an editorial calendar?

Give each post a topic, an audience, a channel and a desired action. Add the visual, caption, publication date and approval status. An editorial calendar helps reveal whether your content only promotes offers or also answers questions and shares useful insights.

Start with a rhythm your team can sustain. Two carefully prepared posts can be a better starting point than daily posts with no clear purpose. Collect ideas first and only schedule content after checking its facts, visuals and timing.

Schedule posts in three steps

  1. Prepare your content

Choose a concrete goal, such as enquiries about a consultation. Create posts using your Brand DNA or your own media. Give each post one main message.

  2. Check the channel and caption

Select your post and channel in the planner. Adapt the caption to its context: a visual example for Instagram, or a professional explanation for LinkedIn. Check the connected account.

  3. Choose a publication date

Set the date and time, schedule the post and check the calendar entry. Publishing requires a valid connection to the relevant social account.

Example: a content week for a local consultancy

This sample combines helpful information with a clear offer. The days illustrate a plan, not universally recommended posting times.

  • Monday · Instagram: Show a common customer mistake and a simple improvement. Invite readers to save the post.
  • Wednesday · LinkedIn: Explain a practical solution from your work without sharing confidential customer information. End with a professional question.
  • Friday · Instagram: Introduce your consultation offer, its actual terms and a clear way to get in touch.

A calendar is not a content strategy

Scheduled publishing reduces repetitive work but does not decide what matters to your customers. Use real questions, misconceptions and product news as starting points. Revisit important ideas with new examples instead of copying the same text across channels.

After publication, assess results against the goal of each post. Saves or relevant comments may matter for educational content, while qualified enquiries may matter for an offer. Use those observations in your next plan. There is no universal best posting time or guaranteed reach.

Before you schedule

  • Check the date, time and selected channel.
  • Verify prices, availability and links.
  • Confirm image rights and permissions.
  • Make sure the image and text work on a small screen.
  • Check the connected account and the resulting calendar entry.

Common questions

Can I plan Instagram and LinkedIn together?

You can prepare content for both in the ONEsocial planner. Select the platforms and review the format and caption. Publishing requires connected accounts.

How far ahead should I plan?

One or two manageable weeks can be more useful initially than a full quarter. Leave room for timely topics and review offers before publication.

Do scheduled posts publish automatically?

The planner passes scheduled posts to the publishing process. A valid account connection and a supported content type are required. Check the publication status afterwards.

Does planning guarantee more reach?

No. A calendar supports a consistent workflow. Reach also depends on relevance, quality, audience and the platform.
